Well, I for one love to see all the cars race...I have family in the GenX class and the Hobby Stock class and I DO COME TO WATCH THEM RACE as well as race myself...but ovalracefan and rebelstraightliner are right, if you cut the payouts in the lower classes, they will STOP racing...

I had a blast on Sat and Sun...I agree the track was AWESOME on Sat, a little rough on Sunday but that is to be expected on the second day of a two day show!

I went there because I have close friends there...have gone two times now and enjoyed it, the car count there would be better if WE ALL GOT ALONG AND TRAVELED BOTH WAYS!!!!! I was one to "take sides" because my home track is Fallon, but I went and my husband and I had a blast! So we will travel back and forth to both tracks and maybe just maybe in the near future all the tracks can start getting along!!!!!
And just for your information, the first time I went to Lovelock we ran six (including Karts) classes and we were on the road home around 1030 or so...(races started at 700), the second time I went, we ran all heats (four classes) and two mains before rained out...but would have been on the road home I would say about the same time...it all depends on the amount of wrecks, the quickness of how the drivers pay attention to the flags and line ups...and that goes for all dirt tracks...

went to Lovelock Speedway and there were only four KARTS...would like to get my son into one, but if there are only going to be a handful of drivers at each track then it would not be worth it...

Not going to ramble on and on...but I do have a couple of things to point out...
1) I thought the races went well both nights...smooth and fast! Way to go to all of us, if I do say so myself.
2) Early in this thread I saw someone ask us to start earlier on July 4th if it happens to be on a work night...well if you didn't notice, we already had to "stall" racing this year as we were going to fast and were going to be done with racing before dark and fans/drivers would have to sit around waiting for dark to see the fireworks...I understand that alot of us can't afford to take off of work the day after a race night, but please don't blame RSR for that...we have always had the fireworks that night and I don't think legally we can do it any other night.
3) Nothing against you #5, but alot of people say that they would like to volunteer or help out just to let them know when/where...well under most circumstances we post work days and projects on this board and discuss those issues at our board meetings. But when the actual time comes, it is the same handful of people that show up to work or help out and it has been that way for years!
4) Jerry is right, many hours are spent at that track, many people spend hours away from their families to prep the track, and when the drivers show up...what happens, no thanks, no appreciation, just moaning and groaning and arguing and fighting and complaining...
5) Honestly the only other suggestion I have is to shut the place down and let it go to waste! BUT I DON'T WANT TO SEE THAT AND I AM SURE ALOT OF PEOPLE DON'T EITHER...but we need support from the fans, drivers, volunteers, city, county, and local businesses to keep it going and fun for all!
I volunteer at the track in many different capacities and many others do too and we just ask for some appreciation and respect! So please grow up and be adults...it is just for fun!!!!!

We normally do a mid season recount just to make sure drivers have been given the correct points. I want to confirm them with Retta at the meeting this Monday so I will post them on Tuesday evening.

As always, payouts depend on car counts!
