I know theres been talk of bumping up rat mod engines to 360 cid. is there any way for a guy to find out if the board is entertaining the idea for the 2012 race season?. ive been looking around for a 305 for my car and would really be disappointed to find out that i spent more then i needed to for an engine thatll be 50 cubes off whats allowed. especially when a junkyard 350 are cheap and plentiful.

three of us are working on some suggestions for the Rat Mod class and will have them to the board soon. They do not include 360 cu. in. engines. If the rules go to 360's then the 3 of us will go elsewhere. 1. I just built a brand new 302 for next year. 2. I have a really good 305 (3rd in DTC this year, won DTC last year, won class last year). 3. There are some cars (and drivers) in the class that should not have 360 cu. in. engines for safety reasons. 4. You want to run the big cubes, go to IMCA, sprints or pro stock. 5. Build a nice reliable 305 (I'll be glad to give you some tips) and then work on the chassis and suspension to make it handle. The #67 car runs a Ford 302 that has never had the heads off in 7 years. He can run up front because we have continually worked on the suspension to make it handle.

please stop racing to the yellow in all classes. food for thought; if the yellow is out, there is a safety issue, otherwise it would not be out, right. we should not be racing if there is a safety issue. safety first right. if we're racing, the yellow should not be out. last week-end i saw a modified racing to the yellow start/finish line side by side for position. the cars that had already passed the finish line were slowed way down in turn 1, the driver tried to get his car stopped and even pitched his car sideways to avoid the cars in front of him. he was not able to get stopped in time and hit the car in front. costing him and the other car quarter panels and door panels. ironically the flagman saw this and proceeded to give the driver that couldn't get stopped in time a rolled-up black flag. this could have caused the driver to possibly be D.Q'd. if we are not going to stop racing to the yellow, may i suggest we ask the drivers to slow down on the back stretch after they have passed the flag stand and continued thru turns 1 & 2. do not slow down abruptly until the back stretch. the boards consideration of this matter will be greatly appreciated. thank you very much. P.S. i wonder how the tracks insurance company feels about racing to the yellow since the yellow is out for safety reasons.

How about a "bone stock" rule in the Gen-X cars?

I recommend Spools or lockers be allowed in Hobby stocks, Also vote to do away with racing back to yellow. I was at DTC, very dangerous on a small fast track.

I would like to put one more vote for the safety concerns of racing back to the yellow.

I recommend Mrs 26j stop telling us that our suggestions have been noted and just wait till everyone is finished or Oct 12th and then gather them up. I do that so that the person who posted it knows it is being read... if you don't like it don't read it...
