I just wanted to say I was both impressed and unimpressed at the same time. Track conditions looked pretty good for a first race of the season. Racing was good. Was very impressed with the crowd size, until lights went out on the back strectch. My kids had a good time with the impromtu foot race around the go cart track. Definately something to do more of, as those fans with kids, if the kids have fun the parents will have fun and be coming back for more. Overall compared to last years opening night I was pretty impressed. Now for the things that make more hesistant to come back. Having been to race tracks as fan and racer at many different locations through out the US. The show needs to flow faster. When one race is over, the next one should be rolling onto the track, one lap and go green. It seems like there is no line up at all when the previous race is over. If your not lined up when its your time to race that is on the driver. Racecievers work great when drivers listen to them. I go to watch racing not parade laps while, line up gets figured out. I know it was opening night and there are bugs to work as there is anytime, but everytime i have been to the track seems to be the same slow progression to get one race done. I will be back to watch again. I always try to support local racetracks. But with kids it gets harder to stay when the show drags on. One last suggestion time limits on races. Example. heat races 8 laps or 8 minutes mains 20 laps or 20 minutes. Clock only stops for first red flag. I ve seen work at other tracks and is good for both the fans and drivers as it usually leads to more green flag racing.
