To the Rattlesnake Raceway board members.: I would like to ask that the board consider letting at least one more vendor come out to the track to provide concessions. While I realize that Rattlesnake wants to keep all the concession sales to themselves, their concession stand cannot handle the volume. Last night, my wife waited in line for almost an hour for 2 items, before they finally realized that they lost her order ticket. I give credit to the people in the concession stand for their efforts, but they are not getting people served in a timely manner, not to mention that they are constantly out of condiments, napkins, etc. You have raised ticket prices for this year, at least give people better service. Another food vendor is badly needed. Respectfully submitted.

To the Rattlesnake Raceway Patrons and Racers,
First I would like to say that this is Justhavinfun responding on little8ball login as mine has not been approved yet.
I want first to say thank you to everyone for their patients and understanding while we get the new crew in the consessions trained and going.
Secondly, we have run out of condiments, napkins, etc on a couple of occassions which we restock immediately, if we leave to many out at once they blow away and according to the health department, leaving the other condiments out for to long can cause food poisoning.
We have, on a couple of occassions mis-placed orders but are in the process of rectifying that now. The crazyness comes when there is a break and all of the volunteers come to eat at the same time as the spectators. But no one has ever waited and hour for their food. We have however, called out food orders (several times) that people don't pick up, but come back and want later.
As far as ticket prices, yes they have been raised. They haven't been raised in years and the cost of the supplies has increased year after year. We try to keep things as affordable as possible but with raising costs there had to be an adjustment.
I don't believe that another food vendor is needed. We are getting a handle on it and working out the kinks. We would appreciate a little support and positive energy, yelling at us at the concessions only frustrates and confusses the new staff.
Trust me when I say, we are doing everything in our power to make the race track a pleasurable experience. In the future should you have complaints about not getting your order on time or you feel like you have been skipped, ask for me, Marri, I would be happy to have a constructive conversation with you and see that you are taken care of.
Respectfully Submitted.

Marri, My wife was in line and placed her order before the heat races were over and before intermission and the mud drags started. She did not get her order until intermission was over and that was only because I walked up and asked someone at the window if they had my wife's order still and they did not, it had been misplaced. When they realized they had lost her order, they did get it to her finally. She did not ask earlier because she knew the volunteers we in line and get their food first which is as it should be. I did not post this to gripe at anyone, and I never raised my voice to the concession staff. However, it is my opinion that the concessions cannot handle the volume, and that another vendor is needed. I think most of the fans would agree, but what do fans know? we are just the ones supporting the local racing and waiting in line for concessions. I honestly didn't think anyone would do anything about this anyway, but it was worth a try.

I went for the first time since about this time last year and a couple things that are just my opinion:
1) the price to get in the gate is cheaper then any other track I have gone to in California.
2) the food prices are cheaper then pretty much everybody around. I paid 6.75 I believe for a soda, burger and fries and for example, at Roseville thats 11.00
3) I dont know if this is the same flagman that you have had in recent years but I was impressed with how HE tried to keep the show going, for example in one of the mains a car was being pushed by the tow truck down the front stretch at the same time the field came by and he gave them the 1 to go rather then waiting ANOTHER lap under yellow... and he's not yellow flag happy either... kudos to him!
4) now the down side and the reason I probably made my one and only trip there for the year... down time down time down time.... every time I have gone in the last few years there is just too much of this. The mains didnt start until after 9pm and we left right after the sprint car main... as did many people then and even before that. I can tow to Roseville, race and STILL get home at the same time as I did from Fallon and that was without watching couple of the main events. Honestly the water truck and the blade get more 'time' on the track then any car out there, and I know the wind blows, the track dries out etc, but I would think after all these years someone woulda mastered the track prep out there.... I think the best thing the track could do is set a curfew as a 'goal' as to when to get the program over with.

Dirt Tracker... So you're telling me that you haven't gone anywhere else and had to stand in line? I know ive gone to football games and etc and had to stand in line.. Marri does a wonderful job, and I have not seen that Concession run any better then it has this year. Shits going to happen and orders are going to get lost. Just what happens.. No One is perfect...
Also you bring in another group for concession the track is most likely going to have to pay them to be there. The cost of food and gas just isnt worth it. But everyone seems to think the track just has money to throw out there it seems like..
Blows my mind.. Everyone can pregnant dog, but can't appreciate anything...
In conclusion, Marri you do a wonderful job!!! I DONT think the track needs another concession, I think people need to have some patience, and if they do have an issue, bring it up then not over the d**n internet. At that point nothing can be done...

Spectator, You obviously didn't read my post very well. It's not standing in line that is a problem for me at all. It was standing in line for an hour that I had a problem with. I was not attacking anyone, I was stating the problem I had and my opinion so that maybe something could be done in the future. They say no more concessions are needed, I disagree. Read my original post again. I gave full credit to those who provide services at the track, But I do believe they are overloaded. Not to worry, I will no longer rely on concessions at the racetrack. Problem solved. My apologies to Marri and anyone else I may have offended in my intent to make Rattlesnake a more pleasurable experience.

So you are saying that you waited for an hour, why would anybody wait that long. If I didn't get my food within a 5-10 minutes I would be asking somebody not just standing around waiting. And secondly if you think they are overwhelmed we are always looking for volunteers, and when people don't step up then we have to do with what we got. Another food vendor will not be brought in as long as I am the treasurer it is not needed. That is your choice not to use the concessions, but remember you are not allowed to bring your own food or drinks in.
Spectator - I agree with you on down time, but we are still working on it, our volunteers work 40 hours a week just like everyone else, so there having to track prep after work into the late nights. So bare with us.
Good job Marri, keep up the good work and don't let anybody get you down.

After reading all of this all I can say is wow! A spectator steps up with a complaint and is insulted and bashed. Even worse yet coming from an officer of the track. Has everyone forgotten why we all are there? I will agree it is fun for those of us who do drive but call us what you will we are all performers. We are only there to put on a show, now how can we put on a show and perform if there are no spectators? I have been elected to the board several times and have been involved in the politics for quite a while, and the only reason we are there is for the spectators. They pay to get in they should get great service. I have heard several complaints about the concessions being really slow, and i honestly think something needs to be done about it. I have witnessed people stand in line for 45 minutes waiting for their food, the only reason I witnessed it was because I was waiting to talk to them and ended up having to go back to the pits to get ready to race. So all in all take spectator complaints to heart and don't get offended by them and get defensive. They are the ones we have to keep happy.
Thanks, Bryan Kaster

I agree with poorboy. Dirttracker was only stating a complaint but was not attacking anyone. There is nothing wrong with that. Something does need to be done about the concessions. Especially if fans are coming on here and posting complaints.

I just want to say that I am very appreciative of Marri and her crew for doing their part in "VOLUNTEERING" to run the concession stand to provide food/drinks for us and the spectators. I ran the concession stand many years ago, I have been on the board several times and I have volunteered at the track on and off for the last ten years. I have seen both sides of all of this...but there are two bottom lines here....
1) Yes we need to provide the best service we can to our spectators so that they will continue to come to RSR and watch the performers/racers - whatever you want to call us. We can only provide that good service if we have the proper funds and volunteers to do so. Marri and her crew are doing the best they can and I think that it will only get better as the season progresses...like she stated before...her crew is new and needs to be trained. Just like in any other job - new employee means training and TIME!
2) VOLUNTEER, VOLUNTEER, VOLUNTEER....I am sure Marri would welcome some help!
I have gone up there many times and I have seen both long lines and no lines at the concession, but guess what PEOPLE that happens at EVERY VENUE you go to! So give them some time to work out the bugs and I am sure there will be very satisfied "spectators" sooner then you all think!!!!!
