and the only reason I started this thread is because I know I am causing a big stir in the class. Don't mean to be, but I know I am. And as long as the rule is "optional" you can almost guarantee I will be wingless.

The rules state wing or non wing. I only have non wing car ready because that is where my interest is. Quite yer bitchin and lets go race wing or not.

Aaron there is no reason that you are brunt of the bitching for this you are doing just fine for running a sprint car. I agree with slash the rules are the rules lets man up and just race, once again my car is 100% wingless.

Guys, this debate will go on forever. The fact is, if you decide to stay with the wings, you will be the ONLY winged SPEC-SPRINT class on the West Coast! Good luck getting ANYBODY to put a wing on a spec-sprint just to come race up here. Purse or not, it doesn't matter. If you go wingless and mirror the rules that Marysville, P-ville, Chico, Antioch, and Petaluma run( fact is, you already do minus the wing) you WILL get more interest and support from "over the hill". Plus add in the "Hunt Magnetos Wingless Sprint Series" that runs at those tracks, and it would be nothing but a win-win situation for us up here! They average 25-30 cars per show! Or you can keep your heads BURIED in the sand, not align the class with anything, watch it slowly die, then wonder"What happened?" This isn't my first rodeo, i've seen it happen before, and now i'm watching it happen again..........Oh yeah, If you're running a wing because of the excuse"it's safer" then you shouldn't be running a sprint car, period! That's a lame excuse. Fact is, there is NO proof that just because you have a wing your safer. Yeah i get the big pillow theory, but if it scares you, SACK UP or GO RUN SOMETHING ELSE!................Sincerely, Troy White

your right this will go on forever.so long as every new driver that comes to this class thinks they know better and wants to change what we started I dont care to mirror any one what we are doing is growing every year and will continue as long as we dont get to crazy with the rules and change them to suit every new rookie driver for their best interest or what they like or a part they have sitting on there garage shelf lets just stick with what we have and let it grow or we will self distruck I,VE SEEN THIS BEFORE. I,m not agianst haveing a big wingless show or two if some one wants to promote it maybe arron would like to take that on since he is the wingless car guy and no need to sack up I already run the fastest class on dirt yeah thats right a WINGED V8 SPRINTCAR! it dont get any better. any thing esle is just going back wards sincerely ,Mike white

First of all, what's your beef with Aaron? Because Arne ran over him? That's right Arne ran over him, Aaron wasn't at fault, PERIOD! Watch the video! www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-EF6MFS_4s Second, we're ALL trying to make this class prosper! Rules alignment with other SUCCESSFUL series' and tracks is the BEST way to do this! Third, Let's see, the class has been in existence for two years, and we average 5 cars in the class? THAT"S WEAK MIKE, AND YOU KNOW IT! Fourth, Change the rules to suit a rookie? Oh yeah, like last year when you all decided to go with wing sliders halfway through the season? Who's the rookie? You can stay in your little dream world thinking that the class is growing, but the FACTS state otherwise. I love sprint car racing, winged or not, and the fact that we finally have sprint racing in N. Nevada is great, but it's NOT going to grow unless we have rules alignment!!! The IMCA is a great example! You know why it works? NATIONWIDE RULES ALIGNMENT! Fifth, Aaron isn't the ONLY non-winger, there's also Tony Taylor, Rusty Baglin, Darren Slater, and a few others that are still getting cars ready so calling him out isn't exactly accurate. I'm not trying to bag on you or start a beef with you Mike, but the way the class is going, it's not going anywhere.....................

I'm not going to argue on this forum with anyone. If anyone wants to talk about this, (the original conversation) then let's talk. If you have "beef" with me, and don't think I belong here then come talk to me in person. I will be in Fallon this weekend 5/7 and welcome EVERYONE to come and talk to me about whatever. Not looking for a fight. We're all adults. I think we can act civilized.
Hope I see you everyone this weekend.
And does anyone have contact with Arne? I need to talk to him. And no, it's not about the wreck. I don't have any problem with him and I don't think he has a problem with me

Re-post from Lovelock bulletin Board--360's It's not a series race. The people in Winnemucca have been asking the sprints to come up there and run for 2years. But couldn't make it work. We are going to try and make it work this time, I hope. If it doesn't go then it doesn't go. Please don't decide against going without finding out what they are willing to do for us!! This doesn't mean crap but when I was a kid and Winn. was running their track at the fair Grounds (I think) they had one of if not the biggest Modified fields going. I think that is what they call the old time hot rods that were the predecessor to the Sprints that developed and are running today. Of course I was only in grammar school but it seemed like every business was sponsoring one. Going to those races marked me for life and now that I have everything paid for this old country boy is trying to keep up. I would love it if by the class going up there 2,3 maybe 4 more old farts could talk some young hot shoes into driving for them also. Perhaps showing up at a few of these tracks would develop enough winged AND OR wingless cars to keep both alive! If we show people we can do it maybe they will try it also. Bread won't spread butter on itself. Only we can make this happen!! Hope to see everybody Sat. at Fallon.

It's not a safety thing with the wings. We are not going 140 MPH down the back stretch. The whole idea the spec sprint class was started was to make a class so the average guy could race a sprint car. When you add wings you spend more $, When you add a wing slider you spend more $, When you add a dry sump so your motor may not blow up because you have a wing you spend more $. Do not try and change something that does not need fixing. Running topless will make you a better driver and it's a hell of allot more fun. My vote, leave the hog sheds at home.

Think this issue has been put to bed for this year. No rules changes mid year was the majority opinion as I read it. BUT I did attend the original meetings for development of the Sprint class and it was started as a low budget sprint class, a Winged sprint class so the average guy could race a Sprint car. It was also decided at the inception meeting to slowly inhance the rules as to grow. The non winged thing came in later when several of the guys wanted to run "over the hill". We are all in this thing together and not into excluding anyone. Winged or no wings has been an arguement for ever and will not be solved on this or anyother thread. It just is what it is. Hopefully with time and by following the rules there will be room for everybody and both species will thrive! "Spread the fever."

Oh yea and 9 at Fallon last Saturday was difinately cool. Plus we all know of 3 or 4 more out there with situtations that prevent them from participating right now. Looks like sprint car racing IS growing in Northern Nevada. Let's make sure we don't shoot ourselves in the head!
