I didn't get the word this, so I guess a lot of others didn't either. I'm all for it, but what about transponders? Raceivers are fine, but without the transponder the scoring problems still exist. With a transponder there is no dispute on what the lineup and finish are.

would much rather see transponders. i know they cost more but a great thing for accurate scoring, helps with line up for restarts, finishes, total laps ran, lap times, etc. good analysis tool. if a racer can't follow the directions of someone pointing where to line up, why would they listen to someone giving them directions in their ear. unless the driver is involved in a wreck, the driver knows who they were following/racing behind. get in line, either line up where told (with-in 2 laps) or leave the track for that race.

bill, to your comment they don't work, i was back east in North Carolina for 2 years every track in the whole area there, it was mandatory to have a race receiver to enter the track and same went with all surrounding states. and they are proven to work and with an attitude like that we should have brought race receivers in along time ago so we wouldn't have to listen to you say your not gonna race now!!!!! if you say that then don't race at all!!!! my opinion

read the rule yourself 2012 GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS NON-SAFETY ISSUES
rule number 3 -No in-car communication devise can be used, without proper approval of Rattlesnake Raceway. The only exception is the mandatory non-scanable raceceivers. If a person is found to be using a scanable raceceiver, they will be disqualified for the enter night.

Decision for raceceivers was not made at the rule change meeting. It was brought up at a general meeting and was voted on by the board. I am not sure what the date was of that meeting. It is mandatory for all classes

We've been using racecievers and transponders at the tracks here in washington state for at least 5 years. There has been no problems. Our track uploads the transponder data so we can view our lap times online.
